Tool Tutorial
Makes repeatable, accurate, and even non-orthogonal joints in wood.
Joinery can also be used ot make box joints
Controls
- Table - holds the part you're cutting. Can be angled. Has a lockable miter gauge for repeated operations
- 2 axes of motion - plunge and XY
- XY has a 2:1 reduction - a movement of 1 inch on the template makes 1/2" movement of the router
- Template holder is fixed to the Z slide, but has a vertical height adjustment. Templtaes are available in the rolling cart.
- Templates have a hole through the center - can use the stylus/pin to center the template on the template holder, then tighten the fasteners int othe t-track.
- Steps on the inside of the template allow for extremely small changes by varying the depth of the stylus
-
Mortises first, then tenons
