Notcher Tool Guide
The corner notcher is a versatile, heavy- Handle duty bench tool for shearing, notching and piercing work. This tool is used for making specific angled cuts in sheet metal. Notches of more than 90° can be accomplished in two operations. The shearing capacity of this tool is 16 gauge sheet metal.
Safety Precautions and Features
- Keep guards in place and in working order
- Keep all body parts away from moving parts
- Do not exceed maximum capacity of the notcher (16 gauge steel)
- Don’t force the machine. It will do the job better and more safely at the rate for which it was designed
- Don’t over reach. Keep proper footing and balance at all times
- Sheet metal has sharp edges. To prevent cuts, use caution when handling
- Keep hands and fingers clear of the shear
Adjustments
The blade’s edges will dull over time. If you believe the blades have become dull please find a shop tech for assistance.
The alignment guides allow for specific angles to be cut. To adjust the alignment guides, loosen the guide lock and set the alignment guide to the desired angle. Relock the guide lock.
Basic Operation
- Adjust the blade guides appropriately according to the size of your material.
- Hold the operating handle in the UP position and place material on the table.
- Align material for the desired cut.
- Pull the lever downwards and follow through with the cut.
- Raise the handle and remove material.
- When all cuts are finished, clean up scraps on the table and surrounding work area.
