Basic Maintenance - Polishing Machine Air Filter

Overview

  • Clean out any debris from the filter box underneath the machine
  • Put in a tool report + Asana task to change the filter if it looks dirty.

Procedure

Setup

  • Wear a dust mask
  • Locate the jewelry area shop vac and bring it to the polishing machine - USE ONLY THE JEWELRY SHOP VAC as precious metals may accumulate in the filter box that can be reclaimed.

Clean the Filter

  1. Ensure the machine is shut down and unplugged
  2. Open the filter box
  3. Vacuum out any strings, puffy dust, and dirt from the compartment
  4. If the filter looks too thick with buffing compound, file a tool report with an asana task so it can be changed by a trained tech - this might need to be as frequent as once a month.
