Maintenance tasks for jewelry area facilities and equipment
Clean polishing machine filter
Overview
- Clean out any debris from the filter box underneath the machine
- Put in a tool report + Asana task to change the filter if it looks dirty.
Procedure
Setup
- Wear a dust mask
- Locate the jewelry area shop vac and bring it to the polishing machine - USE ONLY THE JEWELRY SHOP VAC as precious metals may accumulate in the filter box that can be reclaimed.
Clean the Filter
- Ensure the machine is shut down and unplugged
- Open the filter box
- Vacuum out any strings, puffy dust, and dirt from the compartment
- If the filter looks too thick with buffing compound, file a tool report with an asana task so it can be changed by a trained tech - this might need to be as frequent as once a month.
